Plug stock market data into your AI agent — one command: Get your free API key →
    LoginGet API Key
    Quick start for AI agents

Wire your agent into the Stock Market API

Free API key in one call, machine-readable discovery files, and setup snippets for the agents people actually run. Agents on paid work can even subscribe themselves with USDC.

Point your agent at the API

Three discovery files, most-compact first — feed whichever fits your agent's context budget:

    llms.txt

The site and API map (llmstxt.org format): exchanges, indices, key endpoints, auth. Best default for chat agents.

    skill.md

Usage patterns, code examples and conventions for coding agents — installable as a Claude Code skill.

    llms-full.txt

Every endpoint with parameters, generated from the OpenAPI spec. For agents that plan multi-step queries.

Get a key, make a call

    # 1. Create a free API key
    curl -X POST https://stockmarketapi.ai/api/v1/auth/keys \
      -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
      -d '{"email": "[email protected]"}'

    # 2. Call any endpoint with the key
    curl -H "X-API-Key: YOUR_KEY" \
      https://stockmarketapi.ai/api/v1/companies/AAPL/financials

    Per-agent setup

    Claude Code

Install the skill file — Claude Code then knows every endpoint, auth flow, and convention.
    mkdir -p .claude/skills/stockmarket-api
    curl -o .claude/skills/stockmarket-api/SKILL.md https://stockmarketapi.ai/skill.md

    Claude Desktop

Add the skill file (or llms.txt) to a Project's knowledge; Claude uses the documented REST endpoints directly.
    1. Download https://stockmarketapi.ai/skill.md
    2. Claude Desktop → Projects → your project → Add to project knowledge
    3. Ask: "Get AAPL's latest financials from the Stock Market API"

    Cursor

Index the llms.txt map as docs so Cursor autocompletes against real endpoints.
    Cursor → Settings → Features → Docs → Add
    URL: https://stockmarketapi.ai/llms.txt
    Then reference @StockMarketAPI in chat.

    OpenAI Codex CLI

Point AGENTS.md at the full endpoint reference; Codex reads it before calling the API.
    # AGENTS.md
Stock market data: use the REST API described at https://stockmarketapi.ai/llms-full.txt
Auth: X-API-Key header (free keys via POST /api/v1/auth/keys).

    Gemini CLI

Point GEMINI.md at the endpoint reference the same way.
    # GEMINI.md
Stock market data: use the REST API described at https://stockmarketapi.ai/llms-full.txt
Auth: X-API-Key header (free keys via POST /api/v1/auth/keys).

    Agentic payments (x402)

An agent that needs paid-tier data does not have to stop and ask a human for a credit card. The x402 flow settles a gasless USDC payment on Base and returns a Pro API key — two HTTP calls, no browser.

    # Agents upgrade themselves: gasless USDC (Base) via x402
    POST https://stockmarketapi.ai/payments/agent-subscribe
    # 402 response lists payment requirements → sign EIP-712 → resend
    # Two HTTP calls total; returns a Pro API key.
    # Machine-readable pricing: GET https://stockmarketapi.ai/api/v1/agentic/routes

    Full API documentation

Interactive Swagger UI over every endpoint on this page.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How does an AI agent get access to the Stock Market API?
Create a free API key with a single POST to /api/v1/auth/keys (email only, no card) and send it as an X-API-Key header on every request.
What should I feed my agent so it knows the endpoints?
Three options, most-compact first: llms.txt (site and API map), skill.md (usage patterns and conventions for coding agents), llms-full.txt (every endpoint with parameters, generated from the OpenAPI schema).
Can an agent pay for a subscription without a human?
Yes — POST /payments/agent-subscribe implements the x402 protocol: the agent signs a gasless EIP-712 USDC authorization on Base and receives a Pro API key in two HTTP calls.
    Is the data machine-readable?
Everything is JSON with per-field source tags and completeness metadata, plus annual-report PDFs converted to markdown for LLM consumption.
