Stock market data infrastructure
Company symbols and exchange identity
Resolve company tickers with exchange context and use discovery endpoints to avoid ambiguous or unsupported stock symbols.
Documentation revised
Discover before joining
Search by name or ticker using GET /api/v1/companies/search?q=apple. List companies with GET /api/v1/companies?exchange=NASDAQ. Both routes return paginated responses; follow their pagination rather than assuming one response represents the entire universe.
Carry exchange context
Company-specific endpoints accept exchange as a query parameter. Preserve the returned company identity and exchange in joins and stored requests: a bare ticker is not a globally unique security identifier. Use the API's listing response instead of inventing provider suffixes.
GET /api/v1/companies/AAPL?exchange=NASDAQ
GET /api/v1/companies/BHP/financials?exchange=ASX&period_type=FY&limit=5
Check the requested dataset
Use /api/v1/companies/coverage with optional exchange and security_type filters to inspect stored coverage. Equity financial statement endpoints are not interchangeable with ETF holdings or fund information. An exchange name in a schema or provider catalog does not prove stored coverage for all its listings.
