SEC filing discovery and financial data
Discover SEC EDGAR filing links for supported US companies and distinguish source documents from normalized financial statement fields.
Documentation revised
Discover by company
The filings endpoint uses a company's CIK to retrieve available SEC submission metadata. source=sec_edgar selects the SEC path; form_type can narrow requests to forms such as 10-K or 10-Q. A listing without a CIK or a temporarily unavailable upstream response may not provide filing rows.
Preserve original document context
document_url and filing_index_url, when present, identify SEC-hosted material. Keep accession_number, form_type, filing_date, and report_date together. Submission dates are not the same as the reporting period end, and a filing can contain context absent from a normalized row.
Use structured statements separately
The financials endpoint supplies normalized statement fields and their source metadata; filing discovery supplies documents. Do not assume every filing has a markdown conversion or a one-to-one corresponding statement record. ASX report markdown is a separate stored conversion capability.
